On July 23, 2026, students in the Hospitality, Sport and Tourism Management program, awarded by Troy University (USA) and delivered at the VNU – International School, participated in a field trip to InterContinental Hanoi Landmark 72.
The visit offered students a valuable opportunity to experience the professional working environment of an international hotel, gain first-hand insights into hotel operations, and connect classroom knowledge with real-world industry practice.
The activity was organized within the Working in Tourism course under the guidance of Ms. Tran Kim Loan and Mr. Dang Quoc Viet, aiming to provide students with practical exposure to the hospitality industry and strengthen the connection between academic learning and professional practice.

The program began with a warm welcome from the hotel’s Human Resources team, particularly Ms. Cindy, Human Resources Manager, and Ms. Chau, Human Resources Executive. Their enthusiastic reception, thoughtful preparation, and professional support created a welcoming atmosphere and ensured a meaningful learning experience for the students.
Students learned about hotel operations and international hospitality service standards.
During the introduction session, representatives from InterContinental Hanoi Landmark72 presented an overview of IHG Hotels & Resorts and the hotel’s operations. Students gained valuable insights into the brand’s global presence, management model, organizational structure, international service standards, and the competencies expected of professionals working in the hospitality industry. The session also helped students better understand career pathways and development opportunities within an international hotel environment.

Following the presentation, students were divided into groups to explore various operational departments of the hotel, including the Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Kitchen, Human Resources, and several other service areas. This immersive experience enabled them to observe daily operational processes, learn about international hospitality standards, and engage in meaningful discussions with managers and staff regarding job responsibilities, professional skills, and career opportunities across different functional areas.
The field trip not only enriched students’ practical knowledge but also inspired them through direct interaction with experienced hospitality professionals. By experiencing a real working environment, students were able to reinforce classroom learning, gain a clearer understanding of industry expectations, and better prepare themselves for future internships and professional careers.
