– Applicants with Bachelor’s Degree with majors relating to Computer Engineering/Computer Science/Informatics and Computer Engineering/Computer Network and Data Communication/Software Engineering/Information System/Computer Engineering Technology/Information Technology/Information Security/Information Technology Management/Information System Management/Industrial Informatics and certificates of participation in a supplementary professional course (3 subject – 9 credits). 3.3. English requirement:

  • (i) English proficiency certificate at level three (03) of the six (06)-level foreign language framework of Vietnam when enrolling into the program that is issued by domestic training institutions and approved by VNU or other international English certificates (within validity period) equivalent to score of IELTS 4.5, TOEFL (460 ITP, 42 iBT, TOEIC (04 skills including: Listening score of 275 – Reading score of 275 – Speaking score of 120 – Writing score of 120), Cambridge (A2 Key 140, B2 Preliminary 140, B2 First 140, B1 Business Preliminary 140, B2 Business Vantage 140), Aptis (B1 General);
  • And English proficiency certificate at level three (04) of the six (06)-level foreign language framework of Vietnam when studying specialized subjects (Fundamentals and Specialized modules). The certificate is issued by domestic training institutions and approved by VNU or other international English certificates (within validity period)  equivalent to score of IELTS 5.5, TOEFL (543 ITP, 72 iBT, TOEIC (04 skills including: Listening score of 385 – Reading score of 400 – Speaking score of 160 – Writing score of 150), Cambridge (B1 Preliminary 160, B2 First 160, C1 Advanced 160, B1 Business Preliminary 160, B2 Business Vantage 160, C1 Business Higher 160), Aptis (B2 General)
  • – Bachelor’s Degree in English; advanced programs with English as a medium of instruction according to the scheme of Ministry of Education and Training on advanced programs in some universities in Vietnam; high quality engineering degree (PFIEV) recognized by the Committee of Engineering Degrees; dual degree program in English of which degrees are awarded by foreign universities; international standard training program with English as a medium of instruction; talent training program; high quality training program with English as a medium of instruction of which degrees are awarded by VNU;
  • (iii) Bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or doctorate degree (full time overseas) with English as a medium of instruction, which is recognized by authorized entities.
  • (iv) English proficiency certificates equivalent to the level four (04) of the six (06)-level foreign language framework of Vietnam are exempt for VNU-IS graduates in the following cases:
  • Undergraduate programs of VNU-IS require the English level equivalent to the level four (04) of the six (06)-level foreign language framework of Vietnam and use English as a medium of instruction during the academic training time in VNU-IS.
  • VNU-IS undergraduate students are graduated from VNU-IS within 24 months from the date of the recognition of university degree to the date of enrollment
  • (v) Bachelor’s degree or higher, granted by training units in VNU within 2 years with requirements in foreign languages, meeting the requirements of foreign language competency to apply for the master’s program and applicants already have a foreign language certificate that meets the output requirements before graduating from the undergraduate programs;
  • (vi) Applicants who are foreigners using English as one of the compulsory languages or being English native speakers.
  • Note: Applicants who are foreigners, if applying for a master training program in Vietnamese, must have a Vietnamese language proficiency of Level 4 or higher according to the Vietnamese Language Competency Framework for Foreigners or have graduated from a university (or equivalent qualifications) or higher where the training program uses Vietnamese as a medium of instruction; satisfy the requirements for a second foreign language as prescribed by the training institution (if any) unless they are native speakers of the language used in the training program4.
