The University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City (the USSH, VNUHCM) boasts its more-than-60-year history of establishment and development. The USSH’s predecessor was the College of Letters, officially established in 1957 as part of the University of Saigon. On October 27, 1976, pursuant to the Decree No. 224/TTg of the Prime Minister, the College of Letters would operate as one of the two component members of the University of Ho Chi Minh City, covering social sciences and humanities. On March 30, 1996, the University of Ho Chi Minh City was separated into two distinct institutions, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the University of Science. Since then, both of the universities have had independent status and have been members of VNUHCM under the Decree No. 1233/QD-BGD&ĐT of the Minister of Education and Training.

University of Foreign Language Studies – University of Da Nang was established in accordance with the Decision No. 709 / QD-TTg dated 26 August 2002 by the Vietnamese Government, with the mission to improve students’ knowledge of language and culture to contribute to national construction, development and international integration. The University is selected by the Ministry of Education and Training, and the Management Board of National Foreign Language 2020 project to be one of the five regional centers for foreign languages undertaking the task of training, fostering, and assessing foreign language skills, as well as developing pedagogical skills, and application of information technology in teaching and learning foreign languages.

Institute of Information Technology – Hanoi National University is a member research institute of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, established in 2001.
