The International School, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-IS), the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF) and the International Institute for Francophonie (2IF) are pleased to co-organise, with the support of the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) and international academic partners, the Franconomics International Forum 2026 on the theme “Human Capital, Equality and Social Transformation in the Era of Emerging Technologies”, to be held on 5-6 November 2026 in Hanoi.

The sixth edition of Franconomics carries special significance, as it takes place within the framework of activities leading up to the 20th Summit of La Francophonie, scheduled to be held in Phnom Penh (Cambodia) in November 2026 under the theme “Reinvesting in Peace: A Driver of Shared Prosperity and Sustainable Stability”. In this context, Franconomics 2026 aims to study and discuss the relationships among human capital, equality[1] and social transformation under the impact of emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), in order to identify the drivers and solutions that can foster sustainable, inclusive and resilient development in Francophone countries as well as in other regions of the world.

As artificial intelligence, advanced digital technologies, biotechnology and data-driven systems profoundly reshape modes of production, models of governance and labour markets, Governments and societies face numerous challenges relating to inequality, social inclusion, skills transformation and the preparation of a future-ready workforce. At the same time, these transformations give rise to increasingly urgent demands regarding ethics, governance, social responsibility and sustainable development.

In this spirit, Franconomics 2026 is expected to serve as a forum for international dialogue and cooperation, bringing together researchers, lecturers, policymakers, international organizations, enterprises and innovation actors. The Forum seeks to promote an interdisciplinary approach that connects economics, management, technology, the social sciences and public policy, while strengthening University – Industry – Government cooperation.

With the aim of exchanging and sharing research findings, experience and academic expertise, the Organizing Committee cordially invites scientists, researchers, experts, lecturers and scholars both domestic and international, to submit papers to the Forum. The submitted contributions are expected to provide a better understanding of the dynamics shaping the era of emerging technologies and to propose policy and practical recommendations for advancing human capital development, strengthening equality, fostering social innovation and supporting the transition towards a sustainable future.

📚 High-quality papers will be published in the Franconomics Proceedings (with ISBN and ISSN), and outstanding papers will be presented at the Forum.

Topics of Interest Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • ✓Women’s participation in emerging technology fields such as artificial intelligence, data science, biotechnology and innovation;
  • ✓Equality, inclusion and the reduction of structural barriers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields;
  • ✓Women’s leadership, inclusive governance and the promotion of equality in technology organizations;
  • ✓The impact of AI, automation and digital transformation on employment and the occupations of the future;
  • ✓Developing future-ready skills, reskilling, upskilling and lifelong learning;
  • ✓Higher education, pedagogical innovation and the training of a high-quality workforce in the digital era;
  • ✓University–Industry–Government cooperation to develop human capital, foster innovation and enhance competitiveness;
  • ✓Responsible AI, technology ethics, data governance and privacy protection;
  • ✓The social impact of emerging technologies on equality, inclusion, social cohesion and vulnerable groups;
  • ✓Social innovation, social entrepreneurship and technological solutions for inclusive development;
  • ✓ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) practices, corporate social responsibility, the green economy and sustainable transition in the age of AI.

Guidelines for Proposals and Full Papers

  • Abstract: Includes paper title, relevant sub-theme, and keywords (no more than 500 words).
  • Full Paper: Excluding title, abstract, and keywords (no more than 5,000 words). An abstract in English is mandatory.
  • Format: Must be prepared in .docx format, including author’s full name, telephone number, and affiliation.
  • Formatting Details: Font size 13, single line spacing, Times New Roman. Margins: Top 2cm, Bottom 2cm, Right 2cm, Left 3cm. All pages, figures, and tables must be clearly numbered.
  • Languages: Vietnamese, English, or French.
