1. Program design for students with 150 credits accumulation

1. Qualifications and working experience

1.1. Qualifications

– Applicants must possess a university degree (or equivalent qualification or higher) in a relevant field, and have a GPA of at least “good” or have published relevant scientific papers related to the field of study or research.

– Degrees issued by foreign educational institutions must undergo recognition procedures in accordance with the current regulations of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

1.2. Regarding foreign language proficiency

a) For applicants applying to training programs taught entirely in Vietnamese, an English language proficiency level of 3 or higher according to the 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam is required, evidenced by one of the following diplomas or certificates:

– A university degree or higher in English Language, English Pedagogy, or a university degree or higher where the program is conducted entirely in English (excluding general knowledge);

– A university degree or higher issued by training units within the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, within the last 2 years from the date of application, provided that the applicant uses an English certificate (covering all 4 skills) for consideration and recognition of university graduation (foreign language certificate must be submitted with the application);

– A foreign language certificate (English) equivalent to Level 3 or higher according to the 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam, valid for 2 years from the date of the foreign language exam to the date of application, issued by foreign language exam centers recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training and Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

b) For applicants to training programs taught in English (except for general knowledge courses):

– English proficiency at Level 4 or higher according to the 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam, evidenced by one of the following diplomas or certificates:

+ A university degree or higher in English Language or English Pedagogy, or a university degree or higher where the program is conducted entirely in English (except for general knowledge courses);

+ An English certificate equivalent to Level 4 or higher according to the 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam, or other equivalent foreign language certificates recognized by VNU within 2 years from the date of the foreign language certificate exam to the date of application.

– Candidates who are foreigners whose native language is English or one of the following main languages.

1.3. Other conditions

– Having a clean personal record and not currently under criminal investigation;

– Being in good health to study;

– Meeting other requirements of Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

2. List of suitable majors and supplementary courses

List of suitable majors

a) Suitable majors that do not require additional knowledge:

– Biomedical Engineering Technology;

– Majors:

+ Biomedical Engineering (7520212); Biomedical Science;

+ Majors in the group: Biology (74201); Applied Biology (74202);

+ Majors in the group Medicine (77201);

+ Majors in the group Pharmacy (72202);

+ Biology Education; Medical Laboratory Technology (7720601); Medical Imaging Technology (7720602); Sports Biomedical Science (7729001).

b) Suitable fields must supplement knowledge, specifically:

– (1) Group I: Group of subjects with foundational knowledge in fields related to Medicine – Biopharmacy and Life Sciences, including the following fields: Dentistry, Dental Prosthetics Technology, Rehabilitation Technology; Nursing; Midwifery; Nutrition; Veterinary Medicine; Psychology; Food Technology; Food Technology; Food Quality and Safety Assurance; Animal Husbandry; Aquatic Animal Pathology, etc. and other fields and pilot fields related to biology, health and life sciences;

– (2) Group II: Group of subjects with foundational knowledge in fields related to technology and engineering applied in health: Computers; Information technology; Artificial intelligence; Computer science education; Technology education; Data science; Electrical, electronic and telecommunication engineering; Electrical, electronic and telecommunication engineering technology; Materials technology; Materials engineering; Environmental science; Engineering physics; Engineering technology; Mathematics; Computational science; Applied mathematics; Statistics; Physics; Atomic and nuclear physics; Materials science; Chemistry; Natural sciences; Oceanography; etc. and other fields and pilot fields related to technology and engineering applied in health (Study according to orientation or do thesis in the direction of application in health or biomedical).

3. Supplementary knowledge modules

– Applicants belonging to the group of majors requiring supplementary knowledge must complete a maximum of 5 courses equivalent to 15 credits (details in Table I and Table II).

Note: Additional knowledge must be completed before application.

– The Rector of the International School establishes a professional council to assess the suitability of applicants for the Master’s program in Biomedical Engineering Technology, and to determine the corresponding supplementary courses, ensuring that the program’s entry requirements and current regulations are met; reports to Vietnam National University, Hanoi before admission and is responsible for this professional assessment.

– The expected tuition fees for the 2025 enrollment period are as follows:

+ For candidates who have not accumulated 150 credits: VND 147,750,000.

+ For candidates who have accumulated 150 credits: VND 132,075,000.

– The above tuition fees do not include fees for supplementary courses, knowledge transfer, re-examination fees, course re-examination fees, extension fees, thesis defense fees, etc. (when students do not meet the progress, conditions, and quality requirements of the training program).
