185 student research projects ubmitted for the 2026 Student Scientific Research season

From April 13 to 17, 2025, the VNU – International School convened Faculty-level Evaluation Panels to review student research projects for the 2025–2026 academic year. Outstanding projects were selected to advance to the 18th Student Scientific Research Conference.

VNU-IS ResearchStudent Presentation

Students of the International School presented and defended their research before Faculty-level panels.

In the 2025–2026 academic year, a total of 185 projects were submitted, marking a slight increase compared to the previous year. Of these, 73 projects fall within economics, finance, management, and social sciences; 107 projects are in natural sciences, engineering, and technology; and 8 projects belong to applied linguistics. Notably, 19 first-year students participated in research activities—an encouraging sign that a strong culture of inquiry is taking root across the International School.

Tech DomainEngineering Session

In the engineering and technology domain, research topics reflect contemporary, high-impact trends.

This year’s projects in engineering and technology show a clear shift toward the application of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science. Many projects explore advanced research directions such as Large Language Models (LLMs) and Explainable AI (XAI).

A significant number of interdisciplinary projects integrate technology with application domains such as finance, healthcare, and education to address real-world challenges. It is also notable that several projects have begun to emphasize explainability (XAI), sustainability (ESG), and systemic risk—high-value research directions aligned with major academic forums.

Economics PanelFinance Research

In the fields of economics, management, accounting, and finance, this year’s projects demonstrate a strong awareness of current trends.

Research in accounting and finance focuses on timely national issues, including Vietnam’s carbon market, stock market upgrading, and corporate ESG practices. Similarly, projects in economics and management highlight an in-depth understanding of contemporary dynamics, particularly the interaction between technology and culture.
