The Digital Communications training program is implemented at the International School, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, with a focus on high quality and international integration, meeting the urgent demands of the labor market in the era of digital transformation and the explosion of communication technology.

The program is designed to meet the human resource needs of the labor market, incorporating new trends in digital communications, digital marketing, and multimedia communications. Students are equipped with in-depth knowledge of communications, digital technology, and communications project management, as well as skills in creating multi-platform digital content and the ability to work in a globalized digital environment.

The program features new, updated teaching content built upon programs from reputable international universities. The scientific teaching methodology is appropriate for university-level education. The lecturing team comprises Lecturers from the International School, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Lecturers from within Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and from prestigious domestic universities and partner foreign universities of the International School, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. Core and major-specific courses are taught in English, helping students enhance their foreign language proficiency and international integration.

According to surveys of students and employers, the Digital Communications program at the International School is highly regarded for its practicality, effective combination of theory and application, and students’ adaptability in professional work environments. Graduates can take on various positions such as Digital Content Official, Digital Marketing Official, Communications Manager, Communications Data Analyst Official, or start a business in the field of communications and digital content creation.

The Bachelor’s program in Digital Communications was issued under Decision No. 2039/QD-VNU dated May 17, 2024, regarding the issuance of the program and assignment of training tasks.

PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES

1. Knowledge Learning Outcomes

PLO 1: Apply foundational knowledge of political science, social science, law, methodology, scientific worldview, information technology, and other general education knowledge for lifelong learning, research, and work.

PLO 2: Apply business knowledge and core knowledge of marketing and digital marketing to understand business phenomena, market characteristics, and customer behavior to build plans and implement marketing and digital marketing activities; position and establish relationships between the marketing department and other functional units within the organization.

PLO 3: Apply fundamental knowledge and tools of communications, digital communications, and related knowledge.

PLO 4: Effectively apply digital technologies to communications and marketing activities to increase value and/or reduce costs, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of communications and marketing operations.

PLO 5: Integrate in-depth knowledge of communications, marketing, and digital technology through simulation platforms to deploy and evaluate creative advertising projects, multimedia communications management activities, and sales promotion.

PLO 6: Develop and execute strategies, plans, and startup projects, a business project integrating digital communications and marketing.

2. Skills Learning Outcomes

2.1. Professional Skills

PLO 7: Develop research skills, market analysis, interpretation, and forecasting of customer behavior; sales promotion skills, coordination of communication channel activities, branding skills, and digital marketing communication content creation.

PLO 8: Collaboratively create problem-solving skills in planning, project implementation, effectiveness evaluation, and decision-making for integrated digital marketing communication projects as well as startup projects.

2.2. Auxiliary Skills

PLO 10: Proficiently use English (Level 4/6 of the Vietnamese Foreign Language Competency Framework issued under Circular No. 01/2014/TT-BGDĐT dated January 24, 2014); and specialized English for Digital Marketing Communications.

PLO 11: Identify teamwork abilities, planning, task assignment, critical thinking, and problem-solving, effective control and communication.

PLO 12. Achieve advanced office IT skills (according to Circular 03/2014/TT-BTTTT dated March 11, 2014, of the Ministry of Information and Communications); skills in using data processing and simulation software for digital marketing communication activities.

3. Autonomy and Responsibility

PLO 13: Independently plan, implement, evaluate, and improve the effectiveness of marketing and communication activities proactively; demonstrate an eager attitude towards learning, readiness to embrace new knowledge, self-study, and accumulate knowledge and experience to enhance professional qualifications and expertise.

PLO 14: Work independently or in teams in changing global contexts; accept diverse values; lead, proactively guide, and supervise team members’ work to accomplish defined tasks.

PLO 15: Practice innovative thinking and possess the ability to self-direct, draw professional conclusions, and defend personal views before a group.

PLO 16: Resilience to overcome difficulties and challenges, and responsibility towards individuals and the collective, constantly creating common value for the organization and society.

4. Ethical Qualities

PLO 17: Possess a correct attitude towards communications and marketing, and the value created by communications and marketing activities; adhere to laws and regulations in this field and related activities; create and bring value to the community.

PLO 18:  Exhibit a positive attitude, love for the profession; enthusiasm and passion for work; a sense of organizational discipline, responsibility, and professional ethics suitable for positions and work environments related to digital communications and marketing; adhere to occupational safety principles.

PLO 19: Actively participate in social activities; have a sense of serving the people.

PLO 20: Demonstrate political and personal ethical qualities appropriate for society; comply with public rules.

PLO 21: Adhere to the Constitution and Laws; participate in protecting national security, social order, and safety; have a sense of nation-building and act for the common good.

5. Ability to Continue Learning and Enhance Qualifications After Graduation

With the basic and in-depth knowledge accumulated during their studies, newly graduated Digital Communications and Digital Marketing bachelors are capable of self-reading, self-consulting, and accessing systems of documents, textbooks, monographs, and scientific articles to enhance specialized knowledge for specific job positions they undertake at their employing units.

With the skills and qualities fostered during their training at the International School, newly graduated Digital Communications and Digital Marketing bachelors will continue to hone their skills in the work environment.

After graduation, students can pursue Master’s or Doctor of Science/Dr./Ph.D. degrees in Digital Communications and Digital Marketing or other related specializations.

– Application of advanced teaching methods currently used at the International School and prestigious universities worldwide, fostering students’ self-awareness in learning, self-study, self-research capabilities, creative thinking development, practical skills training, enhanced teamwork skills, information seeking and processing skills, presentation and discussion skills, while strengthening the link between training and scientific research, and improving the overall quality of training and teaching;

– Encouraging students to self-study through research; emphasizing training and development of professional skills, practical abilities, and real-world application for students;

– Encouraging students to work in groups, participate in case studies, organize numerous discussion sessions, exchanges, guide students in scientific research, writing reports, and presenting major assignments in class.

– Organizing internships and practical observations for students at relevant agencies and businesses, including abroad, as required by the program.
