From April 13 to 20, 2024, International School, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, inaugurated “VNU-IS Job Link Week 2024” This event is a new version of the “VNU-IS Job Fair,” expanded to a full week, gathering many domestic and international enterprises that are partners of the school, along with 1,500 student participants. The opening ceremony took place on the morning of April 13 with the presence of representatives from VNU leaders, International School’s Board of Rectors, Chairman of School Council, faculty members, and numerous students.

Unlike the previous one-day “VNU-IS Job Fair”,VNU-IS Job Link Week extends over a week to give students more time and opportunities to connect with a greater number of companies, helping them better understand the expectations and requirements of employers. Notably, during the event, companies had the chance to familiarize themselves with students from different years, from freshmen to seniors, sharing the practical needs of businesses, what employers expect from students, and current and future labor market trends. Additionally, the “Industry Insights Series” workshops provided ongoing stories about labor market perceptions, evaluations, analysis, and practical experiences, as well as social trends in the digital age and international integration.

“With the new version – VNU-IS Job Link, International School-VNU aims to create a long-lasting connection with businesses. During the week, the event welcomed numerous companies from various sectors, including those in fields currently taught at the school. The school also had intensive workshops to train students in CV writing, interview skills, and professional skills, helping them understand general business requirements,” said Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Dinh, Vice Rector of the school.

Over its seven-year history, the “VNU-IS Job Fair” has become an essential annual activity for International School. The program has clearly demonstrated the school’s educational philosophy of closely linking education with business needs, involving companies deeply in the training process.Through the program, 200 companies have officially joined the network of regular recruiters on the School’s job portal, 92% of students have found employment after graduation, and 53% have secured jobs while still attending school.

Thus, “VNU-IS Job Link Week 2024” has indeed brought many benefits to participants. The program has fostered a strong link between the school and businesses, providing students with practical information on companies’ recruitment policies. In the future, International School-VNU plans to continue organizing more job support programs and skill training for students, especially those about to graduate.
