INTRODUCING THE ENGLISH PREPARATORY PROGRAM

The English Preparatory Program (General English) of VNU International School provides students the necessary skills and knowledge to take English proficiency tests before entering the official university program in English. The program is designed to include 5 courses (including one course of providing Foundation language level) and 4 levels of language skill practice (listening, speaking, reading and writing) with the aim of helping students reach English proficiency level B2 or higher according to The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). After completing the preparatory English program, students will have mastered basic and in-depth language knowledge and be able to pass the test for international language certificates such as Level 4 foreign language certificate (according to Vietnamese Language Proficiency Framework), IELTS, TOFEL, APTIS, etc…

With the English proficiency acquired through GE program, students can confidently attend undergraduate and postgraduate programs at VNU International School or find opportunities for studying abroad.

With the help from outstanding lecturers who have lots of experience in teaching English and a team of teacher assistants who are undergraduates studying at VNU International School, in recent years the GE program has been able to achieve a consistent 70% success rate for students taking B2 level English proficiency tests after only 2 terms of following the program (intake). In the school year of 2021-2022, approximately 70% of students have acquired a B2 level English certificate after 1 year of following the Preparatory English program study even though many of them had to start at Foundation level.
