On November 1 – 2, 2024, VNU hosted The 12th International Conference on Emerging Challenges: Sustainable Strategies in the Data – Driven Economy (ICECH 2024).
The annual ICECH International Conference has a 12-year history and has become a prestigious forum for economists, researchers, and scholars from both Vietnam and around the world to share insights and propose solutions for emerging economies. The 12th ICECH continues to attract the attention and participation of many experts and scientists globally. Over the course of its 12 editions, ICECH has gained increasing recognition in the academic community, both domestically and internationally, drawing numerous experts and researchers to present and discuss studies on building sustainable strategies in the global economy.
More than 100 representatives from Germany, Poland, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, New Zealand, Vietnam, and other countries attended the conference both online and offline. The conference chose about 200 reposts of the highest quality, and most suitable with the related topic to present in the official discussion sessions, besides the 3 main reports presented by top speakers during the conference. The reports mainly focused on the topic of data-based economics; strategic governance and Business Law; supply chain, e-commerce and marketing; sustainable finance and banking; innovation and Technology; Accounting and auditing. The top speakers of the conference presented research about the impact of ESG (a set of 3 standards of Environment – Society – Corporate Governance to measure factors related to the orientation and sustainable development activities of enterprise) on global trading and mergers; the impact of Greenwashing (the act of faking green advertisements) to the corporate bond markets; or how the big data can be used to create environmentally friendly supply chain systems and reduce waste.
During the roundtable on the topic “The power of Data in Business Strategic Decisions”, experts and researchers debated on combining artificial intelligence in communicating with customers, the national strategy between Vietnam and Singapore on digital transformation and the challenges businesses are facing when applying data analysis to the business.
Prestigious scientific journals like The Journal of Sustainable Finance & Investment (JSF&I) (Q1), International Review of Economics and Finance (SSCI, Q2, IF=3,399) (IREF), Pacific Asia of the Association for Information Systems (ESCI), and Journal of Asian Business and Economic Studies (JABES) (Scopus; ESCI-WoS) will publish papers submitted to the conference.
Thus, with the key theme “data-based economy”, the 12th ICECH International Conference contributes to strengthening the collaborative relationship between Vietnamese and international researchers in economics and management, sharing many ideas and solutions, particularly the use of data to develop a sustainable economy.
