On January 30, 2024, the International School, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-IS) hosted a meeting with reprsentatives from Chungbuk National University, South Korea, to look for the cooperative possibilities between the two institutions in the coming time.
At the meeting, the two sides briefted introduction about their training programs, research activities, lecturer and student exchange programs, and both parties also expressed their interest in promoting comprehensive cooperation in the future. Both sides spent time talking about the potentials of academic and research cooperation with outstanding supports, which makes sure that collaboration is feasible and benefitial for related institutions. Such promising discussions on in-depth issues such as joint training programs, scholarships and student exchanges created a debut for the cooperation of two univesities. The latter also exchanged their ambition to sign the MOU and MOA in the time to come to implement joint programs. It is believed that in the coming time, the promising cooperation between VNU-IS and Chungbuk National University will be feasible and fruitful for the development and the benefits of all as the hope of the two parties’ leaders.
Chungbuk National University was established on September 27, 1951 as Cheongju Junior Agriculture College. The foundation of Chungbuk National University resulted from the hope of the whole residents, providing higher education demanded by the community, even though through the Korean civil war. Chungbuk National University is home to 13 Colleges and 8 Graduate Schools. In 1999, Chungbuk National University was selected for the Brain Korea 21 Initiative by the Ministry of Education and in 2003, it was recognized as the best university in the project of fostering regional university by the Ministry. Chungbuk National University provides “Project CBNU 2010” to become one of the most innovative universities on the basis of knowledge based information infrastructures. It will become one of the most comparative and globalized universities through the invitation of new outstanding students and professors, the finest support for education and research of professors, an efficient environment for learning based facilities and industry academic cooperation system, and a supporting administration system.
