n 27 December, the International School – Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) held its conference to review science and technology activities in 2025 and set out directions for 2026.

The conference was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đào Thanh Trường – Vice President of VNU and Head of the International School; Chairman of the School Council; the School’s Board of Rectors, together with representatives of functional units, experts, and lecturers.
In 2025, the International School implemented a wide range of measures to enhance its scientific and technological capacity through increasing international publications, developing research groups, expanding networks of experts, scientists and scholars, and introducing policies to support research activities. The year also marked significant progress in intellectual property and the registration of research outcomes.

The International School supported the receipt of new applications and the completion of dossiers for a total of 10 science and technology products. According to VNU statistics on the number of ISI and Scopus-indexed publications, the International School ranks among the top three units within VNU. Over the past year, the School successfully organised three reputable annual international conferences—ICECH 2025, ISEE 2025 and VSEFI 2025.

The International School established one new research group, bringing the total number of research groups to 27. Notably, the President of VNU signed a decision recognising an additional strong research group at VNU level.

With regard to orientations for 2026, the School will strengthen management mechanisms and flexible financial policies; promote university–enterprise cooperation models; develop an ecosystem for entrepreneurship and innovation; build human resources and attract international experts; and modernise infrastructure while accelerating digital transformation in research.

At the conference, participants exchanged ideas, proposed initiatives and strategic solutions, and shared experiences, new models and effective practices drawn from the rich and dynamic reality of scientific and technological activities.

The conference honoured 10 research groups with outstanding achievements in scientific research; 33 individuals with excellent international publications in WoS/Scopus; and 4 collectives and 7 individuals with significant contributions to science and technology activities in 2025.
As 2026 begins with opportunities and challenges ahead, it is hoped that the International School’s science and technology activities will continue to achieve new successes and excellently fulfil the core targets and tasks set for the year.
