International School Strengthens Connections, Cooperates with Domestic Educational Institutions


Within the framework of strengthening connections and developing domestic and international training-research cooperation networks, the International School, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-IS) held a meeting with the Vietnam-UK Institute for Research and Training – University of Da Nang.

Attending the meeting from the International School were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Văn Định, Dr. Phùng Danh Thắng – Vice Rector, along with representatives from the Office of Academic Affairs, Office of Research and Partnership Development, and the Institute for Innovation and Technology Transfer. From the Vietnam-UK Institute for Research and Training was Dr. Nguyễn Hiệp – Director.

At the meeting, the two institutions focused on discussing strategic directions and key cooperation contents for the upcoming period. One important content discussed was the formation of a network linking three institutions: International School, VNU-IS; International University (VNU-HCM); and the Vietnam-UK Institute for Research and Training – University of Da Nang. This connection is expected to create mutually complementary “pieces,” promoting the sharing of resources and experience, and developing interdisciplinary, inter-regional training and research programs.

The International School held a meeting with the Vietnam-UK Institute for Research and Training – University of Da Nang.

The two sides also discussed implementing student exchange programs, where students can study for one semester at the International School or the Vietnam-UK Institute for Research and Training. At the same time, training and research support activities will be enhanced by leveraging the strengths in scale, potential, and academic ecosystem of each institution.

The two institutions focused on discussing strategic directions and key cooperation contents for the upcoming period.

In particular, both sides jointly explored and developed training programs in the Fintech field – an area with high demand in the context of digital transformation. Additionally, plans include faculty exchange, sharing teaching resources, developing training programs, and jointly promoting and attracting international students.

A multilateral cooperation model was also proposed, including international student exchange, attracting foreign lecturers, and expanding cooperation with international partners, including India, to implement joint training programs and attract international students to study in Vietnam. Concurrently, the parties plan to organize a joint conference among the three institutions to foster connections and concretize cooperation contents.

In the long-term orientation, Da Nang is expected to become an important destination in the International School’s cooperation network – a place for academic exchanges, international student exchanges, and the development of joint training programs.

The meeting opened up many practical cooperation opportunities, laying the foundation for extensive joint programs between the institutions, contributing to promoting higher education innovation towards internationalization, autonomy, and sustainable development.
