Promoting collaboration with the University of Arizona, USA

On June 3, 2025, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Đinh – Vice Rector of the International School, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-IS), held a meeting with the representative of the University of Arizona, USA. Dr. Dao Tung, VNU-IS Vice Rector, was present, along with representatives from the Department of Cooperation and Development (VNU), the Office of Research and Partnership Development and Faculty of Applied Sciences.

During the meeting, representatives from both VNU-IS and the University of Arizona introduced their respective institutions, highlighting their strengths and expressing a strong desire to collaborate in various areas such as academic training, scientific research, and student, faculty, and scholar exchange programs. The University of Arizona proposed launching a dual-degree program in Retailing and Consumer Science – a promising major that currently attracts a significant number of students in the U.S. and at the university’s global campuses. Through this initiative, both institutions aim to implement student and faculty exchange programs and offer international students internship opportunities at foreign and domestic enterprises in Viet Nam.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Van Đinh expressed strong support for the proposal and shared that, as part of its new development phase, the School prioritizes international cooperation as a strategic goal to become a hub for global engagement within VNU. In addition, the two parties discussed potential collaboration on short-term training programs, joint research projects, a Bachelor’s program in Business Data Analytics, and a Master’s program in Business Administration.

Founded in 1885, the University of Arizona is widely recognized as one of the best-value universities in the United States. It currently enrolls 56,000 students including 3,600 international students, 300 Vietnamese students. The university offers a diverse array of academic programs, many of which rank among the top in the country. Its faculty comprises highly qualified professionals, some of whom are internationally acclaimed and even Nobel Prize laureates.

In 2025, VNU-IS and the University of Arizona are set to strengthen their partnership through the implementation of joint training programs, research collaboration, and student and faculty exchanges.
