2025: Sustaining growth dmidst a changing landscape

n 2025, amid profound transformations in Vietnam and the higher education sector, VNU – International School (VNU-IS) continued to fulfil its key missions effectively, maintaining stable growth in education, scientific research and international cooperation, while upholding its social responsibility and contributing to national development.

Strong digital transformation in Teaching and Learning

The School further promoted digital transformation in teaching as a core priority to build a modern, flexible and learner-centred educational environment. The Learning Management System (LMS) was upgraded to better support progress tracking, competency assessment and personalised learning pathways. Faculty members received training in digital course design, AI applications in teaching and international-standard digital pedagogy. The School continued to enhance training quality, aiming to deliver elite education in economics, management and STEM fields.

VNU-IS Digital Transformation

Innovation in Teaching activities – a fundamental priority

Pedagogical innovation linked to research and enterprise engagement remained a key focus. Approaches such as coaching-based training, personalisation and research-group learning were effectively implemented. Students actively participated in research, co-authored publications and achieved notable awards at national and international levels. Practical learning activities with major corporations such as FPT Software, MISA, Bao Viet, BHS and DataPot were diversified, while the number of industry experts involved in teaching increased significantly.

VNU-IS Innovation

Piloting the “Triple Helix” training cooperation model

In 2025, VNU-IS and Viettel Academy piloted the “Triple Helix” training cooperation model through the Viettel AI Fresher Program. The programme comprised 160 hours of hands-on training, combining face-to-face learning, online instruction and mini-projects, delivered directly by Viettel’s experts and engineers. Selected third- and fourth-year students specialising in Artificial Intelligence with strong academic performance participated in the programme.

Triple Helix Model

Implementing solutions to enhance scientific and technological capacity

The School intensified international publications, research group development and intellectual property (IP) activities. In 2025, VNU-IS supported the submission of 05 new IP applications and monitored 14 applications from 2024; 07 additional applications were accepted, raising the total number of valid IP applications to 16. Notably, the School was officially granted the “VNU-IS Logo” trademark registration certificate on 18 December.

By November 2025, VNU-IS ranked among the top three units of VNU with 342 ISI/Scopus publications, including 154 Q1 and Q2 papers, and maintained the highest ratio of 2.67 publications per academic staff member. The School successfully organised three prestigious annual international conferences: ICECH 2025, ISEE 2025 and VSEFI 2025; 29 international seminars; and 11 seminars delivered by overseas scholars. Research Camp No.4 resulted in 18 IP applications and 9 research programmes. The number of research groups increased to 27, including one newly recognised VNU-level strong research group.

Scientific Research Capacity

In 2025, 122 students co-authored international publications with faculty supervisors; 32 student groups presented at international conferences; and 4 students became co-authors of Q1 publications and valid IP applications.

Enhancing the internationalisation index of VNU – International School

The School expanded cooperation with new partners such as Université Paris-Saclay (France), the Russian Presidential Academy, and the University of Arizona (USA). In January 2025, 48 dual-degree students in Management and 83 in Marketing transferred to partner institutions for their overseas study phases.

International exchange programmes flourished, including the Overseas Immersion Programme (OIP) with Ngee Ann Polytechnic (60 Singaporean students and 30 VNU-IS students) and the Overseas Education Learning Programme (OELP) with Nanyang Polytechnic (40 students from each side). Students also participated in credit-recognised exchanges in Singapore, South Korea and Japan. The School hosted 03 French interns under cooperation with the French Research Institute for Development (IRD).

Graduation of the first cohort of English Language Studies students

The year 2025 marked the graduation of the first cohort of English Language Studies students, who entered university in 2021 amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Over four years, these students overcame unprecedented challenges and achieved remarkable academic, research and international engagement outcomes, bringing pride to the School.

Holistic development of VNU-IS students

The School continued to deliver soft skills modules at both campuses, engaging over 1,800 students across 20 classes in the 2024–2025 academic year. Personalised mentoring programmes were expanded. The “VNU-IS Job Link Week 2025” attracted over 1,500 students, with 200 enterprises joining the recruitment network. As a result, 92% of graduates secured employment after graduation, and 53% obtained jobs while still studying.

Celebrating outstanding student achievements

VNU-IS students achieved numerous prestigious awards nationally and internationally, including a Silver Medal at the Olympiad of Financial Security 2025 in Russia; Second and Consolation Prizes at Eureka 2025; First, Second and Third Prizes at VNU-level Student Research Awards; Consolation Prizes at the National Student Science and Technology Awards; First and Third Prizes at RnD to Start-up 2025; and 08 awards at the VNU Reading Culture Ambassador competition.

Trade Union and Youth Union activities continued to innovate, actively supporting staff and students through cultural, sporting and charitable programmes. The Youth Union further promoted the pioneering and creative spirit of students through a wide range of engaging initiatives.
