Prize for the best MSc. thesis of the Master Programme 2000-2002 in Wageningen University, the Netherlands. Thesis title is “Is Economic Growth Pro-Poor in Vietnam? Evidence from 1993-1998”.

Second prize of the 2007 Global Development Medal (Global Development Network) for the research paper “Is a Governmental Micro-Credit Program for the Poor Really Pro-Poor? Evidence from Vietnam”.

The Best Paper in Comparative Policy Award 2014 for the paper “The Impact of Recentralization on Public Services: A Quasi-Experiment on Abolishing Elected Councils in Vietnam” with Edmunds Makesky, and Tran Anh. This paper is also awarded the McGillivray Award for Best Paper in Political Economy delivered at the American Political Science Association’s (APSA) 2013 Annual Meeting (August 29 – September 1, Chicago, Illinois).

Biography

Dr. Xuan-Hoa Nghiem received his PhD in Economics from School of Economics, Finance and Marketing, College of Business, RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia and a MSc in Banking and Finance from Chinese Culture University, Taiwan. He is currently the team leader in Economics Group, Faculty of Economics and Management, International School, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Vietnam. His research interests include: macroeconomics, technology and growth, monetary policy, international finance, corporate finance, energy economics, environmental economics. He has published at reputed journals such as Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Renewable Energy, Economic Analysis and Policy and other journals. He also acts as an active reviewer for high-ranking journals such as Finance Research Letters, Economic Change and Restructuring, International Review of Economics and Finance, Journal of Asia Pacific Economy and Journal of International Economics and Management (JIEM-FTU’s journal). Before that, he used to work in the banking sector, as a researcher at Deposit Insurance of Vietnam (DIV) – a bank regulator and as a risk management officer at PVcomBank – a commercial bank in Vietnam.

Biography

Dr. Huong Le is a lecturer and group leader in Finance at Faculty of Economics and Management, International School, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. She got her PhD in Finance at Brighton Business School, University of Brighton, UK and obtained a MSc in Financial Economics at University of Essex, UK. Her research interests are at the area of stock liquidity and asset pricing. Specifically, she is interested in the drivers of asset return and liquidity measures. A secondary research agenda focuses on empirical corporate finance. More recently, her research has also included climate change and its effects on corporations. Her research studies have been published in internationally recognized journals such as Journal of Business Research, International Review of Financial Analysis, and The European Journal of Finance.

Biography

Dr. Thi-Mai Le is a senior lecturer and group leader in Marketing at Faculty of Economics and Management, International School, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Vietnam. Her research interests involve in e-commerce, consumer behavior and marketing management. She received her Ph. D degree in Business and Management from National Pingtung University of Science and Techonoloy, Taiwan. She published papers in Sustainability, Business: Theory and Practice, Wseas Transactions on Business and Economics, Contemporary Management Research, International Journal of Business and Management, International Journal of Marketing Studies and others.

Biography

Associate Professor Nguyen Van Dinh is currently the Vice-Rector at the International School, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Vietnam. He received his Ph.D in Credit and Money Circulation from National Economics University, Hanoi, Vietnam in 2001 and his M.Sc from Boise State University, USA in 1995. He was also a Fulbright scholar at Texas University at Austin, USA and a lecturer at various universities in Vietnam. He also possesses a great deal of working experience in the industry. Associate Professor Nguyen Van Dinh is the author of many high-quality papers at reputed journals such as International Review of Economics and Finance, Environmental and Ecology Research and many textbooks. His main research interests include corporate finance, banking, green finance, sustainable finance, corporate governance.

Dr. Nguyen-Nhu-Y Ho is now working and teaching at International School VNU Hanoi, Vietnam. She received a Master’s degree in 2015, and a Ph.D. degree in 2019 in Industrial Engineering and Management from the National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology, Taiwan. She is currently working and teaching in the areas of business management and operations with many invitations to review papers from ISI and Scopus indices journals. Dr. My-Trinh Bui is an Assistant Professor at the International School, Vietnam National University of Hanoi, Vietnam and an Adjunct Professor at the Swinburne University of Technology, Vietnam. She graduated from National Cheng Kung University and spent years as a senior business and marketing specialist in Taiwan-based diversified corporates. Her research appeared in Cornell Hospitality Quarterly Journal, International Journal of Innovation and Technology Management, Journal of Enterprising Communities: People & Places, Business: Theory and Practice; Heliyon, and many others.

Biography

Dr. Phuong Thi Nguyen received her PhD in Accounting from School of Accounting, RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia. She is currently a lecturer in Accounting at International School, Vietnamese National University, Hanoi, Vietnam. Her research interests include: internal audit, external audit and accounting. Her publications are on high ranking journals, including journal of Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand and Managerial Auditing Journal. She has been actively involved in other research projects. She also has industrial experience in auditing and accounting for more than 10 years, an auditor at AASC, a chief accountant at different companies.


9. Luu Thi Minh Ngoc (PhD)

Associate Professors Thi-Minh-Ngoc Luu is now working and teaching at International School VNU Hanoi, Vietnam. She received a Ph.D. degree in 2014 in Business Administration from the university of economics, Vietnam National University, Vietnam. She becomes an Associate professor in 2022. She is currently working and teaching in the areas of human resource management, business management, and International Business with many invitations to review papers from ISI and Scopus indices journals. Biography

Dr Tran Quang Tuyen is a lecturer at International School, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. He is a member of the NAFOSTED Scientific Council (Economics). He received his doctorate degree in economics at the University of Waikato in Hamilton, New Zealand, in 2013. He teaches several courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, including economics on social issues, economic analysis, and microeconometrics. His research interests include labour econmics, eduation economics and development economics. Biography

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Thanh Tu is currently the senior lecturer at VNU – International School and former Vice-Rector of VNU-VJU. She has been conducting many research projects funded by the World Bank, International Finance Corporation, AUSAIDS, and Vietnam Government in the field of corporate governance, board gender, women-led SMEs, green finance, and banking. She has close relationships and working experience with the Banking system in Vietnam, the Vietnam Association of University and Colleges, the Women Leadership Group in Higher Education, Vietnam Association of Women Union, which will help her in leading the Project successfully. She is also the Vice President of VSL – VNU Scientist Links with experience in conducting workshops/training/talks with the participants from VNU lecturers, scientists, researchers from VN Universities, practitioners, and policymakers.
