Overview
The Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM), International School (IS), Vietnam National University (VNU-Hanoi) was established under Decision No. 3868/QĐ-ĐHQGHN (issued on December 01st 2021, on the establishment of the International School) and Decision No. 168/QĐ-ĐHQGHN (on the undertaking of the IS’s activities since January 26th 2022) of VNU’s President. Previously, FEM was known as the Department of Social Sciences, Economics and Management (DSSEM). It came into existence according to the regulations on the organization and operations of the International School stipulated under Decision No. 250/QĐ-TCCB issued by the President of VNU-Hanoi on 26th April 2004.
The FEM has always lived up to its expectations throughout its development, fulfilling its training responsibilities, research, and other assigned tasks. The FEM has made significant contributions to accomplishing the International School’s missions, which include training, research, and technology transfer based on international accreditation; basic sciences, applied sciences, inter-disciplinary sciences, and knowledge transfer; providing world-class, high-quality human resources and science-and-technology products; contributing to socio-economic development; as well as developing and promoting VNU-IS’s core values of “High-quality, Innovation, Pioneering, Responsibility, and Integration”.
The FEM is an academic unit of the International School that undertakes training, research, science-technology, and other academic tasks/activities. In the present day, the FEM is the main unit responsible for offering 12 academic programs with degrees either conferred by the VNU-Hanoi or its international partner universities. These programs include seven undergraduate programs and five graduate programs.
