THE FACULTY OVERVIEW
The Faculty of Economics and Management is an academic unit of the International School, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. The Faculty was established based on Decision No. 3868/QĐ-ĐHQGHN, dated December 1, 2021, on the establishment of the International School, and Decision No. 168/QĐ-ĐHQGHN, dated January 26, 2022, by the President of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, regarding the implementation of the International School’s operations. The predecessor of the Faculty of Economics and Management was the Division of Social Sciences, Economics, and Management. This division was founded under the Regulations on the Organization and Operation of the International Faculty (the former name of the current International School), which was promulgated in Decision No. 250/QĐ-TCCB by the President of VNU, Hanoi on April 26, 2004.
Throughout its development, the Faculty of Economics and Management has consistently fulfilled with excellence all assigned responsibilities in training, scientific research, and technology, among other duties. The Faculty contributes significantly to fulfilling the mission of the International School, which is “To conduct training, scientific research, technology transfer oriented according to international accreditation standards based on basic sciences, applied sciences, interdisciplinary sciences and knowledge transfer… to provide high-quality human resources and scientific – technological products of international standards to serve the country’s development.” Furthermore, the Faculty helps to build upon and promote the core values of the International School, VNU-Hanoi, which are: “High Quality, Creativity, Pioneering, Responsibility and International Integration.
Currently, the Faculty of Economics and Management is the primary unit responsible for administering 09 degree programs, with degrees conferred by Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) and its international partner universities. These programs include 05 undergraduate programs taught entirely in English, 03 master’s programs, and 01 doctoral program. As of August 2025, the Faculty consists of 30 lecturers who have been formally trained at highly-ranked universities around the world. These faculty members possess deep expertise in teaching and scientific research, are passionate about their profession, and are dedicated to their students. All lecturers employ a modern and dynamic teaching style, guided by the principle of “co-creating the future with learners.”
