Functions & Duties


1. Education and Training activities
a) Organize training programs for Bachelor of English Language, dual-degree Bachelor of English language; develop curriculum, textbooks and learning materials for the Bachelor’s Degree Program in English Language.

b) Organize training programs of Academic Foundation (including Basic English); develop curriculum learning materials, and textbooks for the program.
c) Organize training courses of Academic English 1 & 2 for university students; develop detailed outlines, learning materials and textbooks for these subjects.

d) Organize training courses of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) 1 & 2 for university students; develop detailed outlines, learning materials and textbooks for the subject.

e) Advise on the development of training programs; develop projects, documents and textbooks according to the development orientation of the University;

f) Organize research on applied linguistics, teaching and learning methods; develop and implement methods of testing and assessment, ensuring the learning outcomes in accordance with announced commitments;

g) Take academic responsibility for the content, quality, progress and teaching methods for the assigned modules in training programs and general teaching plans of VNU, International School.

h) Cooperate with foreign language training facilities and enterprises that employ multilingual employees to develop training courses and service, transfer training technology, create internship and job opportunities for learners.

2. Scientific and Technological activities

a) Plan and organize the implementation of scientific and technological activities and international cooperation; cooperate with science and technology organizations and centers, perform scientific and technological services in order to correlate scientific research with teaching and learning practice; perform social service and international cooperation in the area of ​​ the Faculty’s expertise.
Currently, faculty members have been participating as project managers or members of many scientific research projects at grassroots level and at National University level, participating in many domestic and foreign scientific conferences, submitting articles to domestic and foreign scientific journals. These activities not only ensure the quality of training at the faculty, but also contribute to lecturers’ professional development in teaching and research.
