On April 11, 2026, as part of its efforts to strengthen the connection between academic learning and real-world industry practice, students from Industrial Systems Engineering and Logistics program at International School, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-IS), took part in a field trip to Operations Center 5 of Viettel Post. The visit provided students with an opportunity to experience a modern logistics environment first-hand while gaining a deeper understanding of the growing role of technology in transportation and supply chain management.

During the visit, students directly observed the processes of handling, sorting, and transporting goods through Viettel Post’s modern automated systems. A key highlight of the facility was its advanced automated handling line, featuring nearly 200 Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) operating autonomously. The system made a strong impression on students by demonstrating how Industry 4.0 technologies can be integrated with smart logistics management to optimize order processing speed and improve operational efficiency.
Beyond observing the operations, students also had the opportunity to hear directly from the management team of Operations Center 5 and professionals working in the logistics industry. Through presentations and discussions, students gained deeper insights into Viettel Post’s operational model, the application of automation in cargo handling, and the practical requirements of the logistics industry amid the ongoing digital transformation.
The program became particularly engaging during the interactive Q&A session between students and company representatives. Students raised questions about professional skills, employment opportunities, emerging trends in the logistics sector, and the challenges involved in real-world operations. Industry experts provided practical responses, helping students gain a clearer understanding of the profession while offering valuable perspectives for their future studies and career development.

The field trip also enabled students to better understand the connection between theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom and actual business operations. Concepts related to supply chain management, warehouse operations, automation, and process optimization were no longer limited to textbooks but were brought to life through the real-world systems and processes observed at the facility.
First-hand exposure to a professional and technologically advanced working environment also helped foster students’ interest in the profession and encouraged a stronger spirit of learning among students in the Industrial Systems Engineering and Logistics program. The experience provided an opportunity for students to reflect on their own capabilities and proactively develop the knowledge and skills needed to meet the increasingly demanding requirements of the labor market.

The operation of Operations Center 5 has significantly enhanced Viettel Post’s handling capacity and operational efficiency in northern Vietnam and across the country. At the same time, the facility serves as an example of the growing adoption of advanced technologies in Vietnam’s logistics and transportation sectors, highlighting Viettel Post’s role in advancing the digital transformation of the logistics industry.
