More than just a company visit, the field trip offered students at VNU International School (VNUIS), Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU), a new perspective by providing first-hand exposure to the rapidly evolving field of blockchain technology and its growing role in the digital economy.

On the morning of April 8, 2026, more than 100 students from the Financial Technology and Digital Business (FDB) program took part in an experiential learning program at 1Matrix – Vietnam Blockchain Network, a pioneering company providing blockchain solutions in Vietnam. With a vision of building a “Make in Vietnam” blockchain ecosystem, the company is actively promoting the application of blockchain technology across both the public and private sectors, contributing to the country’s ongoing digital transformation.

Held under the theme “An Overview of Blockchain, Crypto Assets, and Career Development Opportunities,” the program provided students with an opportunity to gain first-hand insights into real-world issues and developments in the industry. Opening the program, Do Thi Thu Ha introduced the Vietnam Blockchain Association and highlighted 1Matrix’s role in developing Vietnam’s blockchain ecosystem, providing an essential context for the in-depth sessions that followed.
A key highlight of the program was a keynote presentation by Nguyen The Bao, titled “An Overview of Blockchain and Decoding Scams in the 5.0 Era.” Going beyond foundational knowledge, the presentation explored common scam models in the crypto asset market, the ways in which bad actors exploit users’ psychological vulnerabilities, and practical examples from Vietnam and around the world. The session highlighted that, alongside its significant development potential, the blockchain sector also involves considerable risks for those who lack sufficient knowledge and caution.

The program continued with a panel discussion featuring industry experts Nguyen The Bao, Nguyen Tuan Minh, and Piyush Shah. The discussion focused on the current landscape and development potential of the blockchain industry, career opportunities for students pursuing careers in finance and banking, and common “career traps” that newcomers may encounter. The speakers emphasized the importance of building a strong knowledge base, developing critical thinking skills, and carefully assessing the transparency of projects before entering the field.

The program concluded with a visit to the Blockchain Gallery, an exhibition space showcasing models and practical applications of blockchain technology. The experience helped bridge the gap between theory and practice, making seemingly abstract technological concepts more tangible through concrete products and solutions.
The field trip not only enriched students’ professional knowledge but also gave them a clearer and more realistic understanding of a rapidly developing yet challenging field. Through direct exposure to the business environment and insights from industry experts, students gained a deeper understanding of blockchain and its applications, while taking an important step toward shaping their future career pathways.
