During the final two weeks of May and the first week of June 2026, more than 200 officials, lecturers, and officers from Hanoi University of Physical Education and Sports participated in the training program “Applying AI to Support Digital Transformation in Higher Education.” The program was delivered by Institute of Innovation and Technology Transfer, International School – Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
The program brought together a large number of the University’s officials, lecturers, and officers to explore artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and technology-based tools supporting teaching and learning in the context of digital transformation in higher education.
From the opening session, the program was marked by an active and engaging learning environment, with the participation of more than 200 trainees. The University’s lecturers, educators, and officers demonstrated a serious and proactive attitude toward acquiring new technological knowledge, reflecting a clear orientation: technology does not replace people; rather, the ability of people to master and effectively harness technology is what makes the difference.
According to representatives of Hanoi University of Physical Education and Sports, the training program represents a strategic step toward implementing Resolution No. 57 and Resolution No. 71 of Political Bureau, which emphasize fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training in close association with the development of science and technology. The program also reflects the political commitment of University’s Party Committee and Board of Management, with three key objectives:
- Enhancing labor productivity through the application of AI to optimize management and teaching activities;
- Improving the quality of educational services by personalizing learning pathways for students and preparing them to become global citizens; and
- Promoting humanistic values and contributing to the development of a physically and mentally healthy community, thereby creating a solid foundation for learning and working in the “era of national advancement.”
The digital transformation orientation of Hanoi University of Physical Education and Sports (HUPES) goes beyond improving the quality of student education and training. HUPES also aims to serve the wider community. In the coming period, HUPES plans to combine its expertise in physical education and sports with AI technologies to develop scientifically grounded and personalized exercise guidance products for individuals, helping members of the community exercise safely and effectively, prevent injuries, and improve their overall physical fitness.
“For the country to advance strongly in the new era, a fundamental prerequisite is for Vietnamese people to possess a strong and resilient physical foundation. Therefore, digital transformation in physical education is considered a practical contribution to strengthening the nation’s internal capacity.”
— University Leadership emphasized.
With a global network of experts and extensive experience in applying technology to education, VNU – International School is committed to accompanying Hanoi University of Physical Education and Sports in ensuring that every participant in the program gains a solid understanding of AI and is able to apply it effectively to their professional work.
The completion of the training program marks not an endpoint, but the beginning of a new phase of cooperation between the two institutions. Guided by the spirit of “lifelong learning,” the two universities look forward to developing an educational ecosystem in which technology and the spirit of sports advance hand in hand, contributing to the shared goal of building a strong, prosperous, and healthy Vietnam.
