Message from the Rector

In the context of the 4th Industrial Revolution, graduates from International School, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, (VNU-IS) bring in themselves many high values, with will, energy, bravery, intelligence, capability of lifelong self-studying, ability to work globally and quickly adapt to any changes of life in the future.

With 20 years of construction and development, VNU-IS is one of the first units in the country to carry out the mission of training undergraduate and graduate disciplines and majors in foreign languages. The school has built a system of foundations, “combining internal and external resources”, “domestic and foreign”, “East and West combined”, “Internationalisation within the country”. Staff, lecturers, undergraduate students and graduate students of VNU-IS are admitted and recruited globally, from nearly 40 countries, which makes VNU-IS become a version of “miniature United Nations”. The school is a pioneer in innovation and creativity in education, training, scientific research and dissemination of research knowledge to the community, highly applied in practice; as well as applying and developing new models in higher education, developing people converging with many industries/ professions integrating the capabilities of the fields of economics, management, engineering, technology, languages, psychology, sociology, etc. from bachelor’s program, engineer’s program, master’s and doctoral programs awarded by VNU-HN, degree programs awarded by foreign partners to bi-national bachelor’s programs, a+b programs, bachelor integrated master programs, postdoc, research fellow, and international scholar programs. The school has cooperated in training and research with nearly 50 prestigious universities at home and abroad in Europe, Australia, America, and Asia to produce thousands of human resources for Vietnam and other countries.

In the coming years, implementing the mission of a higher education institution of Vietnam, in general, and of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-HN), in particular, International School is committed to further promoting its position, responsibility, and pioneering role; transforming internal resources, intelligence, creativity and potential of staff, lecturers and learners, and at the same time receives help from agencies and units inside and outside VNU-HN, from international friends in order to build the school into a community of education, scientific research, knowledge transfer, deeper and deeper human development, with a broader influence, spreading values ​​beyond space and time.
